A Treatment For Attention Deficit That is Natural, Healthy and Effective

Article by Laura Ramirez

If you’re looking for a treatment for attention deficit disorder that does not involve prescription drugs, then read this short article for a simple, three-step plan that treats symptoms and will have your child feeling better and behaving more appropriately in no time at all.

While prescription drugs are an attention deficit treatment that works for some kids, these same drugs make other kids much worse. This is because they can worsen the symptoms that they are designed to treat as well as causing side effects like stomach problems, sleep issues and even heart trouble. In addition to side effects, the long term implications of giving drugs to a child whose brain is still developing are not yet known. For these reasons, many parents are turning to natural solutions.

Natural solutions can be even more effective than prescription drugs because they do not have side effects and because rather than suppressing symptoms (like prescription drugs), they actually treat the brain by giving it the nutrients to function properly. Since there are many supplements on the market and they vary in quality, make sure to look for one that offers a money back guarantee and is FDA-approved.

Other things to look for are the right ingredients. For instance a formulation that contains proven herbal ingredients such as Verta Alb, Arsen Iod, Tuberculinum and will increase the ability to concentrate and stay on task, while reducing restlessness, agitation, hyperactivity, impulsivity and aggression. Best of all since this treatment for attention deficit actually gives the brain the nutrients it has been starving for, symptoms will improve even more over time, especially if you follow the other practical suggestions in this program.

Any good supplement is enhanced by eating a healthy diet. In fact, an important attention deficit treatment is to eliminate junk food from your child’s diet. Although it is okay to have an occasional treat, the bulk of your child’s food should come from lean protein, fresh vegetables and fruit in season, whole grain, beans and nuts. You should also make sure that your child gets healthy oils like olive oil and flax seed oil. You can use these oils to cook with or to sprinkle on salads, in protein drinks on mix into cereal.

Finally, a daily exercise plan is a must. Regular exercise is very important for reducing ADHD symptoms because it reduces stress, restores emotional balance and rejuvenates the mind and body. Make exercise fun and vary it from day to day to keep things interesting: a bike ride one day, walking the dog the next, hiking on another day or enroll your child in team or individual sports.

So there you have it: a simple, effective treatment for attention deficit that does not involve drugs and that will build healthy habits for life.

The Unique Traits of Indigo Children

Article by Teri Corbett

Indigo children are kids who possess special traits or talents of a supernatural sort. There are many different beliefs on what makes an indigo child. Some believe that indigo children are the next stage of human evolution; while others think that emphasis on spiritual awareness has triggered, in certain people, telepathic and intuitive powers. No matter the cause or reason behind this enigmatic phenomenon, society needs to recognize and embrace the challenges that arise in dealing with indigo children traits.

The phrase ‘indigo children’ became known during the 1970′s when author Nancy Ann Tappe published a book entitled ‘Understanding your Life through Color’. Over the next twenty years, many books and films on the subject were released, including various types of publicity regarding indigo children traits. In the 1990′s, these special children really entered mainstream consciousness when a book called ‘The Indigo Children: The New Kids Have Arrived’, written by Lee Carroll and Jan Tober, began circulating. Thereafter, the characteristics of indigos became part of everyday conversations.

Traits of the Indigo Child

Some of the indigo children traits typically consist of unusual abilities, including being intuitive, seeing auras, and possessing extraordinary willpower. Another prominent characteristic comes in the form of a strong connection to spirituality, often starting at a very young age. These traits are not a big deal when the children are young, but can evolve into serious issues as the kids grow older. Some people are convinced that many kids being treated for ADHD today are actually indigo children who have not been recognized as such, and hence, are receiving improper; treatment.

Indigo children often have a hard time functioning at a conventional school, and most will struggle through high school. Issues with teachers are common because these kids have an elevated level of emotional intelligence and sagacity, which can be difficult to work with. As a general rule, our traditional, well-established education systems do not accommodate the unique. Indigo children also tend to have high IQs, making them fast learners. At the high school level, this fact can become a problem when these gifted students soon discover they are more intelligent than their teachers. Most will reject authority and discipline. The increasing number of cases of teenagers suffering from depression, indulging in self-mutilation, and coping with emotional issues is alarming. Some believe that indigos make up a significant number of those cases.

Social facades do not fool indigo children – they possess unusual insight and perception. Because they are able to discern a person’s true nature more easily than others, social interaction can be uncomfortable for them. Friendships are typically difficult to maintain. Moreover, they tend to speak their mind, and discuss topics that may put people off or come across as strange. Their odd behavior often turns them into social outcasts.

Self-importance and self-reliance are two other common indigo children traits. Indigos generally tend to mistrust others; hence, they rely only on themselves to get what they want. The fact that they are self-absorbed and purposeful renders them not only impatient but also fearless. Independence has its positive and negative implications; while self-reliance is a valuable skill, mistrust of others increases social interaction issues.

Virtually all indigo children possess remarkable intuition and psychic powers. On the positive end of the scale, some indigos are able to read other people’s emotions and sense their feelings, while on the other end, some have visions and speak with ghosts or other surreal entities. These experiences are frightening for a child.Special Programs and Assistance

There are summer camps and programs across the country for children that are considered indigo. Because these special kids share common traits, they can easily interact with one another on the same level, and understand each other. Friendships are possible. Counselors offer them a chance to hone their intuitive skills and learn how to use their gift in the most productive way possible. Indigo children that are highly psychic do well working with adult psychics in their field of expertise.

Today, there are several books and videos available on the topic; many are helpful to individuals who recognize the particular indigo traits in themselves, and to parents, teachers and others dealing with an indigo child. Being well-informed renders the burden of this immense gift more manageable.

Due to ongoing cosmic changes, some people in the field believe that an increasing number of indigo children will be born in the near future. It is time for the world to acknowledge and embrace their kind. Read more about famous psychics.

Carefully Handling Stimulants for a Safe and Effective Treatment Attention Deficit Disorder

Article by Steve ST-Pierre

Students who have been diagnosed with ADHD can acquire treatment attention deficit disorder in two major forms. But despite the fact that highest effectiveness can only be achieved by acquiring both methods of treatment, a majority of people with ADHD / ADD prefer utilizing medications alone. And among the ADHD drugs, stimulants are most popularly known and most widely used by patients. This type of drugs works by increasing the amount of a specific neurotransmitter known as dopamine which present in the brain. But then, stimulants as ADHD drugs are not that easily acquired. It requires an official prescription along with dosage instructions from doctors before a person can use them. But due to its side effects and other purposes that can be taken out of stimulants, these drugs are often abused. This then results to other health complications on a person.

Factors that lead to substance abuse on stimulants. . . Stimulants are not just good as treatment attention deficit disorder. They are also used on other purposes such as taking control over one’s appetite who wants to lose some weight and as a performance enhancement drugs to help athletes further improve in their sports careers. Part of the many adverse effects that can be expected out of stimulants includes improved alertness and ability to stay focused which can be very advantageous for a person engaged in sports. However, stimulants have also been found out to give off euphoric effects on a person who has inhaled or injected by such drug. This is done by pulverizing the substance before dissolving it into water. Abusers may feel good about it and become addictive but little did they know that addiction will eventually lead to more serious health problems.

Problems caused by stimulant abuse. . . Taking stimulants as treatment attention deficit disorder can only be effective and safe when doctor supervision is present and if the patient follows exactly what the doctor prescribes. However, a lot of people with ADHD become tempted with abusing the substance and eventually suffer the following consequences:

• Dramatic blood pressure increase• A person can experience difficulty in sleeping and disturbance in appetite• Heart attacks and other heart ailments• Paranoia

Apart from the aforementioned consequences, stimulant abuse has a long line of adverse effects. Because of this, medical experts and parents of students with ADHD should be stricter and extra careful when it comes to utilizing stimulants as treatment attention deficit disorder. What’s even worse is that there can still be some more complications during and after stimulant withdrawal form a person addicted by it.

Psychotherapeutic Interventions as Essential Components in Effective Treatment Attention Deficit Disorder

Article by Steve ST-Pierre

When medications or drugs are used as the only treatment attention deficit disorder, patients can only expect less effective results. The main reason why a lot of people take for granted the importance of psychotherapeutic interventions is that they are only regarded as mere alternatives and as recommended or as integral parts of the whole ADHD treatment. Medications or ADHD drugs should be taken alongside psychotherapeutic interventions wherein both methods perform specific and distinct tasks in the overall success of the treatment attention deficit disorder.

Through the aid of these interventions, families and students with ADHD will be provided with the right and proper techniques when it comes to responding with various ADHD symptoms. Various advantages are also offered when psychotherapeutic interventions are utilized as well. These are:

• Gain effective strategies in responding with various ADHD symptoms• Significantly improved self-confidence and awareness on self’s importance despite the present condition• Students with ADHD can properly determine their strengths and make significant improvements• Become more capable in dealing with the common problems faced in the day to day challenges of life• Become more capable in behavioral control• Can then come up with own techniques to live normally despite their disabilities

Why behavioral therapy is important?Through the aid of behavioral therapy, behaviors shown by a student with ADHD are clearly emphasized. This specific type of therapy helps individuals diagnosed with ADHD become well capable in generating their own techniques to adjust or respond with their ADHD symptoms and acquire the needed benefits. Instead of making proper identification on the main causes of ADHD symptoms, behavioral therapy provides more focus in developing the most appropriate solutions. As an essential component of treatment attention deficit disorder this particular type of therapy is also comprised of fun learning and physically developing activities.

What social skills training is all about. . . Students with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder are commonly known to have poor handling skills when it comes to maintaining relationships with friends and relatives. When a person with ADHD undergoes social skills training, he is educated with the right strategies to overcome socially unacceptable behavior. Literally, their social skills are also further developed as part of the treatment attention deficit disorder.

How to Control Your Child’s Aggressive Behavior

Article by Alexandra Armstrong

Are you experiencing aggressive behavior in your young child? Is your defiant child calling all the shots? Do you feel exhausted and just don’t know what else to do?

If your answer is yes, and I bet it is… As you continue reading this article, you will learn how to end the power struggles, the aggressiveness and gain back control over aggressive and defiant child behavior.

Many young children are not able recognize their own strength or even the full consequences of their actions; and in a world where they are often being told what to do, where to go and how to behave, it does not seem all that unreasonable that an aggressive and defiant child may sometimes need to speak out and be heard.

Defiant Child Disrespectful Child

-As you may already know, controlling feelings and emotions is a learned skill and can be very difficult to master in some adults, let alone children.

For whatever reason your difficult aggressive child throws an outburst, one thing to always keep in mind is to not interact with power and anger of any sort or you will end up with a child that is very defensive and will fight whatever you ask him not to do.

-The good news is there are better ways to deal with this kind of aggressiveness that can create a win-win situation for both of you using proper child management methods. Nagging or punishing children for acting aggressively can make it more likely that they will act that way in the future. Imagine, if you will, a 3 yr old quietly piecing a puzzle together or even playing a video game. She/he has almost completed the puzzle/game but cannot get the final pieces/play to come together.

-Throughout this quiet half an hour the parent has been around but has said absolutely nothing. Nothing, that is until the child becomes obviously frustrated and throws the puzzle/game across the room and begins screaming or swearing loudly. At this point the parent intervenes by reprimanding the child and sending him/her to their room. You know where I am going with this right?

-It would appear that the parent has done everything appropriate in this situation, except for the fact that the only attention this child received during the time period was negative. If this is commonly the case, the child may begin to feel that any attention is better than no attention and as a result may continue to act out disruptively in daily activities.

-When dealing with aggressive children, it is worth the effort to praise even the smallest attempt at proper behavior, while paying very little if any attention to negative conduct. Praise can be a very strong motivator.

Research shows that aggressive and angry children are very likely to grow up as problematic teenagers and adults.

And trust me; no parents would want that for their children. Let me show you how you can control your 3-year-old aggressive behavior by following 3 simple proven methods at http://www.goodparentingreviews.com.
